whos saying "5.0 will mop the floor with the SS" though?? its a drivers race nobody is disputing that, but that doesnt mean they are equal performers. The 5.0 has the advantage (maybe 2-3tenths and 2mph). The only person on here that i see saying the performance difference is a "no-doubt about it" win for the Mustang is someone who has owned both cars and has timeslips to prove it. Even despite that, the "ford guys" here are still saying its still a close race so im not sure why youre getting so bent out of shape.

and if we are talking just about the two cars and not the drivers............... I have driven stock SS and 5.0, going by my sensitive butt dyno and a heavy right foot, I am inclined to pick the 5.0 performance-wise ( on straight and twisty "flat" roads). If the driver becomes the variable, then take your pick.
