The ZR1 cam is a little improvement over stock, however it is also ground around the limitations of the stock heads, when you port an LSA head there is a significant improvement in airflow and therefor the type of cam you would spec would be fairly different than the production camshafts for this or the LS9. I would say to at least do the headers as the stock manifold/cat assembly will choke it down pretty far, and the stock exhaust will keep it very quiet.
I would suggest our 1c cam for his build personally if he is looking for more stealth and excellent drivability out of a manual trans car.
