well since the PT cruiser is based off of the Neon platform (the 2nd gen cars from 99/00 to when they were discontinued when the Caliber came out) it should be the same as putting a LS series V8 in a early 4th gen as it will drop in or 'drop up' as they were put in from below at the factory. as long as you have all the computers and wiring stuff and the transmission. and your PT is a manual tran it should be okay.
plus the idea of a PT Cruiser with 220 plus hp would be sweet! the SRT 4 engine can go up to 300 plus with a stage 3 kit from the factory that installed in the car would void the warranty (don't know why tho) but since there is no warranty on the drive train you are looking at go for it!. I knew a guy who put the SRT 4 drive train in a 95-00 Stratus. the car was a base model with a 2.0 SOHC neon engine (130 hp) and a 5 speed. when done he had 225 plus and i rode in the car after he did the swap and i was like damn!
