They have a dog--in the backyard. The only time he barks is if someone comes around the gate, and he obviously can't see the cars in front. When i was a kid in california we had my dog penned along side the driveway and someone was kind enough to come and poison him to death one night when we were away.
Dad also has a flood light over the garage-and motion detectors on each side. I'm just amazed that criminals going around somone's driveway aren't scared the door would fly open with a gun pointed at them.
Cops finally called back 4 hours later. Actually a retired cop. That's who they have taking reports now. but he said that will change shortly. They're cutting back so we will have to fill out our own reports online. My dad told him people are going to have to take it into their own hands and the excop said "that's what i tell people". He also mentioned they'd filed a report a year ago yesterday. That was when my dad came out on a saturday and found a big dent on the top of his fender almost like a golf ball. Most likely someone fired a gun in the air from some ways off and that's where it came down.
Usually my dad's truck is out at the curb but it's been in the driveway for three days with a blown manifold gasket-which we just finished.
They got the window fixed, but the trim on the inside of the door panel is broken and GM doesn't make that anymore for a 13 year old Olds.
These are the good things life is full of.
