1st thing is to get comfy with your instrument (Giggity)... there are alot of books around.. go to your local music shop and ask them what book they recommend for a beginner (don't worry they won't laugh).. if i was you i'd get to grips with Chords first and practice changing between them, then on to scales... once you've got those down you'll be laughing.
Alot of the learning materials will be TAB based... this is really simple to learn.... just remember to take small bits and practice them alot and you'll progress quickly.
