I know the LSA can handle more, but you have to be a lot more careful of knock when it comes to hypereutectic pistons and in a production vehicle the tune will have to be very adaptable. Anyone have any input?

I hope both companies start dropping weight instead of just pumping up the power numbers.
Thought I'd prefer a forged shortblock, I don't think it's GM's problem. I understand many people are going to want to push these cars, like the GT500 and Terminator guys have been for years, but I still don't think that's GM's problem to worry about, per se. I don't know that going that way would necessarily effect ZL1 sales that much, and if it did, I don't think it would matter, too, much. However - seeing the testing LSA has already completed, and being used in marine applications really makes me think LSA doesn't get the credit it deserves. I'm not arguing a forged shortblock isn't the way to go, but I don't think that's going to necessarily going to push the CAMARO-faithful away.

Besides - there comes a point where putting that power to use is going to become a problem.

Later on I want to get the Griggs GR40 suspension and that plus light weight brakes should shave another 120lbs and that should bring my 600hp GT500 down to the 3,4xx range.
That's SWEET!!! All that power with that weight loss is turning a bad@$$ car into a MONSTER. KUDOS!!!

See more power doesn't alway mean a win.

HOWEVER - bragging rights account for a lot in the car community I don't know that ZL1 necessarily needs to match the power as long as it can make use of it more effectively. I'd be lying if I said I don't think they should at least match the power though. All it costs is money

It is, though. Remember where you are
