Players want owners to open the books, Seriously? Name a business any business that the owner shows the EMPLOYEE the books, NONE. Very few of the PLAYERS had anything before playing football much less the ablity to have financial independence and now they sign contracts in the millions. People say agents take money, they don't know how to invest etc... well I guess they should have stayed in school and learned that stuff, again I do not feel sorry for them.

The kids are told from a very early age how great and wonderful they are, just look at college recruiting, it has become a circus, with props, entire TV shows dedicated to where some kid is going to play football and over half turn out to be a joke. Just like the NFL Draft Case and Point Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russel.

The NFL made 9 BILLION dollars last year and they want more, the average player made about 3 million dollars( A GUESS) and they want more. I guarantee you this that not many 20 somethings would pass up 3 mil a year o get paid to stay in shape, play a game, live the life of an NFL player with the access they have.

The owners cry about losing money, well quit building 3 billion dollar stadiums, quit charging 9.00 for a hot dog and 7.00 for a coke plus 35.00 for parking. There is so much money for the NFL to go around.

BUT here is the biggest point of all. Each one of us on this forum has a job or had a job. Each job has a set of rules and regulations and requirements for that job plus a salary scale. We knew when we took our jobs what the pay was, the pay scale and what we could expect to earn, the longevity of our life for our jobs ( SEE MILITARY DOOR GUNNER or COAL MINER) and we either chose to take it or not knowing the dangers, and for whatever reason we chose to take it. SO NFL Players quit whining that I may get hurt, life expectency is 3 years yada yada yada, you know the risk and you take the money. Owners collect the revenue and need to budget their money better.

I for one think they are all paid entirely too much and could take less to help fans out but greed has taken over and kicked in. JMHO

took the words right from my own mind.
