Also, I understand the dislike of the high priced players, but this really isn't about them. this is about the players as a whole, vs the owners. Believe it or not, the average player doesn't make millions. And the average player lasts about 3 or 4 years in the league. So I can understand them trying to get as much as possible in the small time frame they have. There is a VERY select few that make it to the NFL. IMO, those select few are very talented individuals.

So the average player only last in the NFL for 3 or 4 years, and makes mid to high 6 figures while riding the bench. I should feel sorry for this individual? Why? Because he might get hurt if he ever plays or gets off the practice squad?
That's the risk you run in any career. Football, baseball, fire fighter, construction worker, etc.
Sorry I am on the owners side. Name an industry where you can see your bosses books and demand 50% of the pie. Does the NFL owners get 50% of Bradys and Manning endorsements from reebok, under amor, Sony, uggs, gatorade?.
