Why would you go with piston driven? Their extra reliability over direct impingement has never been proven. In fact, piston technology was around when Eugene Stoner designed the AR style rifles. You are spending extra money to solve a problem that does not exist. That money is better spent on training classes, ammunition, magazines, etc.

Based on these, unless you absolutely have to have a piston driven AR, 99.9% of people on here can get by with a direct impingement because they will never be in a situation where their guns are driven as they in the article and video.
