90% of the time, I just clean my ears by digging my pinky in as far as I can get it (not very far) and digging out whatever is in there.
Every so often though, I get a q-tip wet and stick it in my ear - swish it around, repeat a couple times with clean q-tips, then use a dry one to dry out your ear. Dissolves the wax, works great.
