GM is American because it competes in the US economy and brings its tax money back to the Union. It wouldn't compete if every car were built in the US because too much money would be spent on production to turn a profit. It brings the money back to the States to fund the US federal budget. In business terms, that's pretty American.
In social circles, the joke has been taken too seriously that imports are more American than whatever comes out of Detroit. The joke is that they employ American workers so they care about Americans. With the economy the way it is, guess whose expensive workers are taking hour cuts? That would be everyone. They have their own problems in the land of the rising sun, and that means that companies from the East will send their money home before they send it to blue collar Americans. The only reason that import companies have any factories here is that they can afford it with the slave labor production they have over there, and it sells more cars here because foolish Americans will fall for the trick. What's the trick? The trick is that they'll tell us about the 3 American factories they have, and that will be enough to convince us all of their American dedication. GM will talk about all of their factories, and we won't be impressed because they should be here. It's a double standard, and most Americans are stupid enough to go for it.

It's bad enough that you joined the forum this month and have as many posts as you do, but now you claim that Ford is superior on a thread not even related to Ford. If you love Ford so much, then why did you blow so much money on a Porsche motor swap using the LS1? Why wouldn't you use the classic 5.0L or a current Mustang motor? Why didn't you buy a Mustang? Don't answer. I'll tell you why you did this. You bought a nice car for appearances and a powerful motor for speed. It's a great plan, but you have to consider what this says about you. It says that you care about appearances, and that your favorite motors are built by GM because you could have built that Porsche using any motor in the world. You probably could have afforded just about anything seeing as how your car is pretty outrageously expensive and the swap wasn't cheap. Since you care about appearances, it is clear that you're inflating your post count to look somehow better than you are. For those of us with large post counts, the number has been a joke on Camaro5, but you take it seriously. You're on a pro-GM site with a Camaro avatar and a Mustang signature. Pick your loyalties already! If you love Porsche so much and feel the need to boast that your imported luxury car has a SBC in it, then maybe that should be your picture.
