It can flood, but usually from a problem like a sensor being out of whack. Have the dealer do a cold start with a scanner hooked up looking at things like the temp sensor. If the car thinks it's -20 and it's really 50, can easily flood it.

Most efi systems have a clear flood mode. Hold the throttle wide open while cranking and that should put it in clear flood mode. If the oil smells like gas, it was flooded.
