My friends car.

Yea. 9s on stock internals and you say its junk?? The ricer has well over 500 passes on it and a couple sessions at the texas mile. PLUS its semi daily driver. Yea thats a pile isnt it??
Oh for ****'s sake.

Read the damn thread. I in no way said the Evo was a bad car. I said it was a great performing car for the money. What I did say is that the Mitsubishi lineup as a whole is weak and that's the reason they're having problems selling cars in this country.

This thread just further demonstrates the disconnect between enthusiasts and the general public. If you want to see what I mean, go out on the street and ask random people what brands they would consider when shopping for a new car. You would get a lot of Toyotas, Hondas, Chevrolets, and Fords. Maybe even Chryslers and Dodges. Mitsubishi? Maybe one or two.

It's obvious that people here don't share my opinion, and that's perfectly fine. But consider that this site is centered around a performance car, which is also what the Evo is, therefore I would expect nothing but support for it. However, go to another site like GMI where people form opinions regarding automakers based around the automotive industry as a whole, and you'll find that many people see Mitsubishi the same way.

Does it suck that the Evo may be going away? Yes it does. But like I said, if killing one low-selling car is necessary to revamping the rest of the product lineup or diverting funds towards other product programs that they feel will bring more sales and profit, then they have to do what needs to be done.

And seriously, it's not like they can't bring the car back once all their ducks are in a row. GM did the same with the Camaro.
