I'm actually a District Loss Prevention Manager with over 10 years and 500 something shoplift apprehensions. I don't know much about Wal-Mart's program but if it were 3 out of the 4 companies I worked for the LP agents would have been fired if this story was accurate.

In all seriousiness I hate seeing LP agents being jackasses and chasing people through the parking lot, we had someone killed at one of our stores in my last job doing this. Its not like worth taking your life into your hands for merchandise that doesn't even belong to you, especially your being paid $8 to $12 dollars an hour. The LP guys are only armed with cuffs and their fists, no reason to chase into the parking especially when the police got there. Now I'll say on Morgan Sheppard's part that this was pretty badass and way to be alert.
