I have discovered that shops always take WAY longer than their promised time to finish a project on a car. I think it's because something unexpected almost always comes up during a project.

I guess the good news is that they aren't trying to hide anything from you and do a quick fix hoping you won't notice it. At least it will be done right when is done.

Hang in there. It's going to be so cool when it's finished.
