Thats the catch twenty two about jobs these days. You have to boost your career a lot more these days so you can keep increasing you wage/commission/salary to keep up with inflation. Most company in what I do have frozen pay increases for the last 2 years or laid people off. In my case I got lucky and I saw the lay offs coming before they got me and found something a little better. Not that I'm expecting this job to last either, the circus will keep going around and around. My main concern is saving enough for the worst case scenario in not having a job. Hey, if I crafty enough I build a good chunk of change for retirement if I'm crafty enough.
