. I'm planning on a S&W M&P .40 compact for carry.... first priority for me is a competition gun. I like how you can put the full size mags in the compact.... so carry a 10 round .40 mag in it, have a couple 15 rounders for backup. I like the .45 too, but the M&P .45 is just a bit too big (even in the compact size) for CCW. For shooting paper and steel, I think the .40's better.... more bangs with less reloads, and still got plenty of power for other uses.
