They also have an XDm which has a few more features to it. I would look for a 4" barrel or even a 5" if you don't mind the extra weight.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. I need to save money right now, and school is crazy. But as soon as I get the time and cash I'll go to a range and try some different ones out.

You can get a .44, and only need a .50 barrel and magazine and just swap the two when you're inclined.
I'm planning on doing just that. I plan on using the .44 just for home defense and .50 for flame throwing when I go shoot. They way I figure it - a criminal is likely to recognize that particular handgun pretty quickly, and it might even discourage them from continuing their course of action. If it's necessary to discharge the firearm, I think the .44 is more than enough, and even overkill. Shock and awe is my goal.
I've always wanted this gun since I first saw it in a magazine. No - it's not too practical, but it's being improved and the current Mark XIX is the best to date. I plan on loading my own rounds for the AE and the .44. Maybe I'll step up to their muzzle break, too eventually. $2K for what I'm thinking I'm wanting is a big chunk, though. I'm considering a S&W .500 mag, too. Those are legal, and several hundred bucks left.
Bigger is better, lol.

A .50 with the muzzle break is exactly what I want. Painted black

They are expensive though.

I figured not as a first gun, but in the future I would love to have one.
