The reason being.. Norton, McAfee or even Panda Antivirus are widely used that most viruses have a way around them now. Kapersky is fairly new and have been shown to catch/detect and fix/remove more viruses then any other antivirus.

This coming from a Corporate IT Technician.. (me) but Im sure soon it will not be #1 as they all die from people learning ways around them.
I'll have to check that out. I've got to say though -- I agree on Norton....had nothing but trouble with them . McAfee's been brilliant, though. Not a single virus, spyware, adware, etc, etc in almost 3 years, now.
