some are taped; some ain't. just depends on the situation.
and i'll second the motion for *some* country artists. something about this part of the country (upbringing, lifestyle, beliefs, values, etc) tends to lend more respect & pride in our nation & its symbols.
i was actually standing right behind Big & Rich on the field when they sang it at one of my college games & they were amazing!

no... i think it's just that too many singers today have the "fix it in post" mentality. if you go back & listen to multitrack recordings from the 70s/80s - you'll find that most of the good ones are basically recorded like they went to tape/vinyl. they did it right on the performance end & had to have very little done to make it sound better.
