It is very much overkill, that is the point. They could have easily put a 4.X L blower on there and make as much power as this one, but even easier because as you mentioned less parasitic loss.

The dyno is a Dyno Dynamics. Bring some cars down to New Orleans and ill show you just how low it reads. They had a corvette dyno day and had several pro charged and vortech supercharged vettes and all of them were in the 430-440 range. They even had a guy with a C5 that has a C5R block (427) with all the goodies, trick flow heads, nice healthy cam, fast intake...I wanna say the guy said his car put down in the very very high 500's on another dyno (dynojet i believe) well he pown down 47x on that day and he was also the most powerful vette there that day.

I remember the first car they dyno'd. It was a cai,exhaust,t-stat,tuned SRT8 6 speed challenger...289rwhp.

Its funny cause my car "only" put down 412rwhp but im running times and trap speeds of some cars that have put down as high as 55x rwhp. Im speaking of our heavy mopars not anything ford or gm.
Yeah dyno dynamics are devastatingly low, but it seems they are awesome for tuning purposes.
