In the end, you have to make a decision based on which car you feel meets your wants/desire more than the other. Considering that you don't even have the option of driving a SS Camaro yet, I think it would be impossible to make an educated decision between the two.
For some, just that fact that the car is manufactured by Ford is enough to disqualify it from consideration. To others, the opposite is true. Is there an immediate need to make a decision on your part? If not, why not wait until the Camaro hits the showroom and, if they let you, drive one and get a feel for it. Then go drive a GT500, again, if they let you. Then you can make a decision from an informed position. The low mile, GT500's are going to be out there for some time, so don't think that if you don't act immediately you will miss your opportunity to buy one.
