I didn't have any true online classes in university, but there were a couple that made extensive use of the internet. One of them, the prof posted up what was essentially a podcast for all but 5 classes (it was a BS class, scheduled for friday nights 7-10 pm ... attendance would have been near 0 anyway). The other, the prof did a simucast online and we had to make 3 weekly postings about either the content of the textbook or something covered in lecture. But neither one was terribly important, the first was 'Collaborative Leadership' and the second was 'Impact of Science and Technology'
Why would you even be giving a solvable equation as an answer?
Seriously though, online quizzes can be very annoying, even the multiple choice questions. I can't tell you how many times I'd get a message along the lines of:
Incorrect
You answered 'c'
The correct answer is 'c'

I haven't had that happen to me yet, but be sure... If I don't get on C5 for a few days then you know it happened and I threw my computer out the window.
