National security, Cell service, Info services (tv, internet and such) are all a good product of NASA inovation. But why do we need to spend TP money on deep space exploration? A moon mission will be a stepping stone for a mars mission. You're all for the innovation that NASA has generated thus far, but who knows what developments will be made for a mission to Mars. It is the destiny of humanity to explore, it has been that way for millenia. There isn't much left to explore on Earth except the deep sea. You never know when a planet busting asteroid will come our way. Or how bad the next ice age will get. So ultimately, if the human race is to survive indefinitely, we need to get off this planet. The sooner the better.
