Interestingly the more safety gear we had on....the more danger...
When you were a kid, you put on a helmet, tell me you weren't doing some stupid fun stuff!!
Times have changed boys....

Being of Mexican descent, we wore the Mexican version of elbow pads...a long sleeve shirt
My brother tells a story of when we were riding our bikes through our neighborhood and came upon a down-hill slope. He rode down first and I waited at the top because I was a bit scared of it. He told me to wait until he made sure the coast was clear. A few seconds later, he said that it was okay to go...As I lifted both of my feet on the pedals, he decides to tell me, "No! Wait! The lady is coming with Buffy!!!" (Buffy being the friendly neighborhood dog). According to him, he says that he only saw me moving the handle bars wildly because I was going so fast and he could see the fear in my face until I completely ate it. Later he said that as I was riding down the slope, screening like a girl, that Buffy just tilted his head while watching me wipe out
My mom beat us silly when she saw what happened to me and said, "Next time go faster...that way you'll learn."
