Toyotas recalls should calm down in a couple of years, when they start introducing the cars that they're busy working on right now. But even then, all the cars from the past 5-10 years (as well as the 2011, 2012, and 2013 MY's) will continue to have issues crop up.

Umm ... no

For 2010, worldwide, Toyota sold ~30,000 more vehicles than GM (out of 8.4M). Since 2008, Toyota has only built around 1M more, on a total of around 25M. Honda, I'm not even sure where they rank. They're not big enough globally to make the major press releases. For 2010, Toyota was #1 followed by GM and VW. Ford and Hyundai/Kia are in 4th and 5th (though its not clear who sold more just yet). So at best, Honda is the 6th biggest automaker in the world but there are a number of other automakers that could also hold that title as well.
