We have a lab....best dog ever! When we got him he would take us for a walk / run. We got a collar called a "gentle leader" Amazing! really changed him. Also he jumped a lot on people. he never jumped on us because we trained him not to with negative training. If we would have just turned away and not given the attention he wanted it would have been more universal. If we wanted him to leave somethin alone we would have him onthe leash, and pull him away from it and say "leave it". The rest train with treats.
We tried a bell by the door when it was time to "go outside". Unfortunately it turned into the "play with me! Play with me!" bell. We took the bell away, and he started bumping bar stools into the breakfast bar to make a sound. That dog is smarter than its owner for sure!
I wish I would have trained him to do his business in a certain area of the yard rather than where ever.
BTW....great looking dog!
