Like for instance if I was to come in here and be like damn those 5 miles I did yesterday on the treadmill killed me, when someone would be happy just to have done 5 miles. I've had friends stop coming to the gym, because they got discouraged when they were walking next to me and I was running, and I don't think my mom likes walking next to me for the same reasons. I just don't want to discourage people in here who are working really hard and losing weight, with my petty complaints.

I can understand where you are coming from because a runner's diet and training plan is SO different from what most people's goals are on here. I ran one half marathon (in Iraq) and two full marathons last year (Oklahoma City and Air Force)...and have the missing toe nails to prove it!!

I hope you stick around this thread...I might be able to offer you some good running tips and vice versa. I will be out of the country so I won't be doing any marathons this year until the fall...I am hoping my deployed location will be doing an AF Marathon in September, and I will find one somewhere nearby that I can run in November when I get back....probably San Antonio Rock N Roll Marathon. Either way, I will start training June time frame probably, so I could use a "running buddy."
