There is no reason to believe the weight will go up dramatically, and it would have to be a dramatic increase to come close to the Camaro's weight as you surmise.

First off, if you and Gator wanna get childish and call each other names take that garbage to PM sheesh.
As for weight vs. power. Let's see what really matters....
2010 Camaro - 3860 lbs / 426HP = 9 lbs per HP.
Mustang - How much will it weigh with that 6 speed and 5.0???? If you say 300lbs less....that's fine...how much HP???? Let's figure it in HP/lb and see?
I Googled and all I can find is "close to 400HP for the 2011 Mustang's 5.0". I have no idea if that's right or not but using that number and your 300 lbs less:
2011 Mustang - 3560 lbs/ 400HP = 8.9 lbs per hp
But we're all guessing on what a 2011 Mustang MIGHT have. GM will likely upgrade the HP on the Camaro in 2011 as well. So we should really compare 2010 models:
2010 Camaro 9.1 hp per pound of weight.
2010 Mustang 3572 lbs / 315HP = 11.3 lbs per HP = Mustang looses.
Heck, my supercharged V6 4Runner puts down 300HP. Mustang GT pffffft.
