i want to add my 73 road runner as well. this one has been in my family since it was brand new. my dad bought it new when he got back from vietnam in '73 for a whopping $3800. he got married in '77, i was born in '80 and it became the "family car." i was brought home from the hospital in this thing, which may explain my love affair with ma mopar and cars in general! my mom would put me in a clothes basket and wrap me up in blankets and that was my car seat on the front passenger side floor!

not very safe, but hey, it was the early 80s!
after '84, my brother was born and the road runner was parked at my grandparents house and my dad would rarely drive it cause of having two young kids and work, he had no time! then in about '86, he parked it in the carport at my grandparents and it sat there until 1999. it only had 52k on the dash. i can remember going over to my grandparents house at like age 9 or 10 and going out to pretend to drive the road runner as it sat in what was basically a shed with no door, so the back end of the car was exposed to the elements for all those years. it was the coolest car in the world to me (well aside from the general lee or kitt) because it had the road runner cartoon on it and the speedometer went to 120

(as a kid, that was a lot!)!
we eventually had the car flat bedded to our house when i was 18 where my dad and i spent months getting it back to drivable conditions. it was a great learning experience and time well spent with dad. after i bought my own house in 2007, he wanted me to take it. i couldnt believe it. he said because i begged and begged him to bring it home so we could work on it and put many hours in on it myself, i could have it as a housewarming gift! i will never sell this car!
for anyone curious...its all original. buffed the paint out and it was still good! wheels are the only thing new. they are replicas of the magnum 500's that were on there originally.
sorry for the length...didnt mean to give you my life's story!
