Funnily I developed more emotional attachment for my ex Neon than my mini-van. The Neon was a piece of crap but that's kind of why I liked it, because I could just drive it without worrying about it. It was like the "little engine that could". The mini-van on the other hand is my practical car that I do somewhat take care of because it has an important useful function - sort of like a refrigerator.

I was also sad to see my first car go, a Jeep Cherokee Ltd. As useful and fun as that car was though, it didn't "feel" reliable. Even though it was tough and reasonably reliable, it just felt old and worst for wear. It was a 99 model, but I felt I had to take care of it lest it fall apart. Maybe because I could help getting rock chips on the front. That car must have had hundreds of rock chips, and I spent a great deal of time touching them up only to see the touched up parts flake off by themselves or having to touch up new rock chips. This must have given me the perception of a car "getting old".

Currently I also have an Infiniti G35x sedan which I really love. I think the design is classic and it has awesome zippy performance. I think I definitely have an emotional attachment just because it's so enjoyable to drive and does its job so perfectly. I love how I can drive all year around because of the AWD. It's a feel-good car, with an unbeatable combination of utility, performance, good looks, prestige and luxury. Too bad the current G37 looks so dorky, and the Acuras look like crap because when it comes to eventually replacing the G35x, there are few AWD Japanese replacements - I like the Audis but I don't like their reliability and maintenance costs. I guess I could "settle" for the new IS350 AWD :-D

Finally of course, I have my "beast", which I haven't driven much because of the blasted snow. No doubt I will really develop strong feelings for it once summer comes around!
