The Camaro SS is 3860 from the official reports from Chevy. That's not a guess. And yeah, that's right at 300lbs. You may need to check your math, and your ass. The 2011 GT will have an aluminum block and 6 speeds(ha yourself) across the board. IRS is not in the Mustang's near future, probably not until 2014 or beyond. Keeps the weight down you see. There is no reason to believe the weight will go up dramatically, and it would have to be a dramatic increase to come close to the Camaro's weight as you surmise.
