If it's only one month old, you'll more than likely have some separation anxiety problems with the dog. When it wakes up, take it out. After it eats, take it out and when it goes, use the same spot everytime; "Oh, this is where I do my business". If I were you, I'd try sleeping with it for at least a couple of months so you'll take over as mother and will also help develop you as alpha dog (also might help with separation anxiety).

Read, read and keep reading. Cesar Millan is also a good source as he understands dog psych. I've also watched a few shows on wild dogs and learned a lot. Another thing would be socializing it with other dogs but make sure all dogs have their shots.

It's like a kid, so you'll need to be committed and good luck..
