There is truly nothing new under the sun. 'Young buyers' in general have always had a bit more of a slant toward the Circus-Circus side of styling. To lump them all in together is of course unfair. For example when I was 18 my favorite new car, in terms of styling, was the rather reserved Thunderbird SC and my personal car was an early 70's Mach-1. (the latter of which is admittedly a bit more flamboyant than the T-Bird to say the least....but hardly Circus-Circus)
I like an aggressive-looking car so long as it is well done. For example, I rather like both the GT500 and the C6 Vette, either of which looks like they would happily eat the Sonic's young. The front of the Aveo is not well done IMO, or particularly aggressive for that matter.
