This is why a lot of the fad diets are so popular, if you look at most of them they reduce carbs drastically which results in instant WEIGHT loss not fat loss, but people on them hop on the scale and wham, they think I lost all this weight this diets great. but they ALWAYS gain it back because you cannot reduce carbs to low for a long period of time. When you start eating carbs again (you will) your body says I've been deprived of carbs so long I'm going to store these and yes they get stored as fat. You cannot stop this it's known as survival mode. There have been some diets, I believe Atkins is one of them that reduce carbs quite low and worked but it backfired but after a while they revised the diet which now started re-introducing carbs gradually as metallicide has suggested and it has proven much more succesful and still is today.
