I agree with the principal of this plan completely.

Sure there is. Our steel mills don't provide jobs to Americans. We provide material cheaper than you can supply it yourself. Take price out of the equation (within reason) and it makes more sense for you to buy American than Canadian. And if you stop buying our steel, no biggie. We won't buy certain things from you, and increase the price of other exports like electricity and natural gas. Stuff like that is hard to find other sources for. Actually, I just want an excuse to start tearing NAFTA apart. I'm content with 1 page at a time.

Meh, it would never come to that. The provisions state that increased cost or depleted supply would allow for outside sources to be used.
