According to the government's findings during their investigation of "Big Oil", their margin profit is about 10%. When is 10% profit screwing the American consumer?

On a special note, Senator Tom Harkin, of Iowa, accused President Bush of being in bed with "Big Oil". Well, Senator Harkin's wife sits on the Board of Directors for Phillips/Conoco Oil and I sure as hell didn't see him sending back his wife's profit sharing check. So he is literally in bed with "Big Oil". People in glass houses I guess.
What about jewlers? Their mark up is near 600%. Let's hit them with a "gross profits tax".
The free market is about supply and demand. If you don't like a product or service, DO NOT buy it.
When those who would like to see us in a "greener" world state gas will go up to $5.00+ a gallon, the futures buyers buy, buy, buy driving the price up.
This is the way the tree huggers force their beliefs on everyone and control everyone's behavior. It's all about power, not about saving the environment.
If it was about saving the environment, the tree huggers would all eat more meat. According to their own studies, the beloved bovine is one of the main sources of methane on the earth. In a word, cow farts are destroying the ozone.
If tree huggers truly wanted to save the environment, they would stop eating oxygen producing plants and have a steak.
