The last time it went past $4 the economy tanked. If a stop is not put to it soon fuel prices will knock the knees out from under the little bit of fragile economic recovery that we are seeing and we'll be back down for a double dip. When will the powers that be recognize that it's energy that drive the world economy and the American way of life. The "D's" don't give a hoot. They want high prices so we will all buy a Prius, build wind mills and live in the dark in some sort of eco-utopia. The "R's" don't give a hoot what we pay either because the more we "little guys" pay for energy the richer the energy companies and the rich guys get.
Just wait, $4 gas and $100+ oil will finally bankrupt the big 3, finish killing off the RV industry for good, kill the leasure and vacation industries, and drive the airlines back into bankruptcy. This will fuel hyper inflation at all levels, and leave the resto of us shivering in the dark with no jobs.
