Lets look at this... Say 20 mpg. $3.50 a gallon. Car weighs what, almost 4000 pounds. It's roughly 2200 miles from LA to NYC. 2200/20= 110 gallons * $3.50 = $385. Try to ship something that weights 4000 pound from coast to coast. It doest cost that much to move this much mass from point a to point b.

By those calculations, it would have been cheaper to drive my Camaro from Oshawa to Los Angeles. PLUS mine was packed on a train full of other cars, and tons of other crap... being shipped... and charged... paying money.............
I believe train is the cheapest way to ship anything across the country.
