Why don't they replace it with this in a couple of years?

I love the XLR, but its place in the lineup never made any sense. Cadillac is supposed to be all attitude, but the XLR-V, the car with the biggest "bark" by appearing the most aggressive, gets beaten by the CTS-V by a landslide in any race. Cadillac had a good thing going with this car, but it has to make changed in the performance lineup to make all of its V-platform cars fit in the right place.

The Cien shows that Cadillac may have upscale ambitions that have not yet been met. I'd love to see Cadillac develop cars that compete with the top tier of luxury and performance machines. It would be great to see a Cien run beside a Gallardo. The style is there. Throw in the LS9, make it light, and charge a lot. It will sell.

GM stands for General Motors. GM has conquered the general area of motor sales, then lost its market share, and now is fighting to earn a good reputation back. If GM builds cars that have above-and-beyond reputations that compete with Italian sports car brands, then GM will be seen among them.
