I'd say engagement as well. Although the clutch is actually disengaging.
However, what I don't get is why they're testing on manual transmissions. We didn't get tested on them at all, because you don't need to know how to drive a stick shift in order to drive - most cars are automatics these days.

Again, I'm trying to assume what the test is looking for. It doens't make sense that they are looking for engagement. What does it matter in a driving test?
I remember answers like, neutral, shift, break and such. I don't remember 'Engage'. We were tested on HOW to drive operate the car, not How the car works.
