His ship was hit with a torpedo (200 men lost) in the pacific and left in the middle of the ocean as a decoy. Eventually it was towed into harbor, patched and limped back to the east coast for permanent repair.
I'm now in my late 50's. I lost my Dad almost 2 years ago. He was my role model. I am the man I am today because of him. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.....it was an honor to know him and have him for a father.
Please remember all the vets and current military who sacrifice so much for our freedom.
