Yeah, but he is a Canadian who got his start on a show called @Discovery Canada, which turned into Survivor Man on Outdoor Life Network (which is owned by Rogers -A Canadian telecom company), and now airs on CityTV which is a small network based out of Toronto that was acquired by Rogers.
And while Rogers is big in Canada, their TV channels aren't very popular, unlike CTV or CBC. They make most of their money from providing cable/phone/internet service. So you can understand my surprise that a small show on unpopular channels would get aired in the US, even in the days of hundreds and hundreds of satalite channels.
