Only because I'm starting a new diet/workout routine soon. I should be able to lose 30-40lbs in 4 months.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, DON'T DO IT!!!
I was a serious sun-worshipper in my youth and almost paid for it with my LIFE!!!
I have had malignant melanoma TWICE...the first was in 1987 and the second in 2008, and that was after AVOIDING the sun or using SUNBLOCK and covering up for 21 yrs after the first melanoma...my risk never goes away
I just found out earlier tonight that I have yet another basal cell skin cancer on my face

:(
I've had 4 biopsies on my face since September...3 of the 4 are cancer...
I had surgery for the 1st one in October and surgery for the 2nd one only 3 weeks ago...now I have to have another one
I've already had 2 previous surgeries on my face in 2006 and 2008 for basal cell skin cancer...and remember the melanoma surgery, also in 2008 :(
I am paying dearly NOW for all the sun exposure I had THEN, when I was young and stupid and thought I was invincible
BTW, even though I have fair skin, I always got a really dark tan
When I was 1st diagnosed with melanoma in 1987, the risk was 1 in 150 people getting this deadly, and sometimes fatal, cancer...today that risk is about 1 in 50, thanks to the depleting of the ozone layer, year by year
If I can save just ONE person from the HELL I have gone through, then it was not in vain...no one wants to go through this just to look tan
Save yourself, and save your skin....you will look younger and have almost no wrinkles if you are careful in the sun
Take it from me...I have been smart about the sun and I am still 'reaping what I sowed' back in those days...the damage is already done...all I can do is try to avoid causing more cancer by sunbathing now
At least my skin is not all wrinkled up like a prune like so many of my friends that still sunbathe are
I am 55 yrs old in the following photo that was taken last year when we picked up the HWAY STR...most people think I am 10-15 yrs younger than I am, thanks to sun avoidance
The 2nd photo is me, in my 20s with my never-ending dark tan
Not trying to lecture you, but you did want advice, so take it or leave it, the choice is up to you
Good luck!!!...I do care, and that is why I am sharing my horror story with you, and the rest of C5
