I have a Springfield XDM 40 and I love it. The difference between XD and XDM is a few minor changes such as the barrel and I can't remember what else but it shoots wonderfully. I recommend it because you still get a bigger caliber round and a 16 round capacity it's awesome! Also easy to disassemble and clean and works with dirt running through it lol. No wonder it won NRA Handgun of the Year Award in 2009
Oh, and 40 ammo is a little cheaper than .45 by the way. Just my two cents on how well the XDM's shoot and perform.
