Each event allows only certain cars to be used for the event. Try the event called "Muscle Reflex" and it should allow you to use the camaro. You can Also use any car you have unlocked by "free roaming". From the map screen, press triangle to enter free roam on the ps3. I don't know what button it is for xbox.
