In 1972 when leaf springs and drum brakes were the norm. This is 2009. More is expected from a vehicle these days.
I considered a Challenger myself. I love the way they look style wise and they have some nice features.
Turn offs for me were:
1. PRICE - the SRT8 (required to get 400HP+ which I want) was $$$$ at well over $40K
2. Gas mileage is awful
3. Poor handling has been mentioned in every single review of the car.
Those three things were enough for me to wait. Glad I did, the Camaro will get 23MPG, have good if not great handling, 426HP, and cost $10K less. Can't complain there.
P.S. I'm no fanboy either. I drive a Honda and a Toyota currently so I have no loyalty to GM to cloud my opinions.
