The MyKey of today is more than just a fancy valet switch. With MyKey, you can control not only the revs, but also set a top speed limit, limit the audio volume, etc. It's all done by creating a specific program in the PCM that automatically activates when a particular key is used in the ignition.
In any case, it's a cool idea that allows Ford to provide the Boss 302 with an "off-road" performance strategy without having to take the car somewhere to get a "tune" and not have to worry about any warranty issues.
Most like it, but some will just hate it for no other reason than it's offered by Ford.

so you engineered it? no? then i wouldn't speak to it.
the press release states a two mode ecm... the how or why is beyond us unless someone asks a ford engineer.
(and as a side note, maybe the mykey has been neutered on my gt500 but it doesn't do anything more then notify you your going over a set speed limit, turn the radio down and let you chose dial colors... certainly not limit rpm range and speed).
