You guys could be right about the Montana being just too small. And I know the SSR was not enough of a truck to satisfy the needs of those who needed a part time truck car for around town use like the ElCamino. That nitch was filled partly by the Colorado/Canyon line in 2004. Now GM has announced that it will discontinue those trucks in 2012 with no replacment scheduled.
I bought one of the first 2004 Colorados to hit town. It was a crew cab and we love it still. It now have over 95,000 miles on it. I DON'T need or want a full size pickup. I DO need a pickup bed once in a while to haul stuff though. The Colorado was perfect. It gets good mileage, rides a lot quieter than my 2011 Camaro (
sorry guys but it's true), takes 4 people in comfort anywhere I want to go, and I can tow it behind my motorhome. As of today Chevy is telling this part of their customer base to take a hike over to Toyota or Nissan if they want a product that fits this demographic. They are missing the mark. An ElCamino-like vehicle might capture us. The Montana might too. Come on Chevy!!! Don't drop this customer base from your loyal following.
