Also, corvette and camaro are chev and share from the same parts bin usually. Why would corvette share with Pontiac? Remember... Corvette has alot of ruling power at GM.
Remember the FIERO program? They were out-performing the vettes and corvette made sure the fiero program died. That was the start of the Pontiac ousting in IMO.

Actually, GM thought about bringing the Corvette to the Pontiac brand.

Look familiar? It only made it to pre-production though. GM realized they were shooting themselves in the foot with it.
